Icon Genesis Desktop Manager lets you ergonomically organize your icons on the desktop. The unique “Animated Icons” feature lets you use 3D animated icons.

Installing Icon Genesis

Getting Icon Genesis
Icon Genesis Desktop Manager can be downloaded from http://www.ignss.com,
purchase directly from the developer site http://www. ignss.com/order,
purchased at your local PC Software store or from within the program.
To purchase from within the program, go to iGnss options and click on Purchase,
then click on Start and follow the steps.

Installing from CD
1. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive
2. Start-up should start automatically if it does not double click on the My Computer
icon then double click on the CD/DVD-ROM drive icon.
3. Double click on the Icon Genesis Setup file (iGnss_setup.exe or IconGenesis.exe)
4. Follow the on-screen installation instructions

Installing Downloaded version

1. Double click on the My Computer icon.
2. Locate the location of the (iGnss_setup.exe or IconGenesis.exe file.
3. Double click on the Icon Genesis
4. Follow the on-screen installation instructions

Uninstalling Icon Genesis

Make sure that the Icon Genesis is not running.
Follow these steps to properly and completely the uninstall Icon Genesis.
1. Click on the Start button
2. Click on Settings
3. Open “Control Panel”
4. Double click on Add/Remove Programs
5. High light Icon Genesis
6. Click on Uninstall
7. Follow the on-screen instructions
Note: Icon Genesis does not have any ad-ware, spy-ware software or any other type of tracking/spying/monitoring software.



Using the Icon Genesis Desktop Manager

Starting Icon Genesis

To Start Icon Genesis Desktop Manager follow theses steps:
1. Click on Start button
2. Click on Programs
3. Click on Icon Genesis container
4. Click on Icon Genesis

Exiting Icon Genesis

To Exit the Icon Genesis Desktop Manager:
Right click on Icon Genesis icon in the system tray and click on Exit or


Animated Icons

Icon Genesis lets you make your workspace active and alive. You may assign any animated gif file to any desktop icon. Each icon supports three animated GIFs, each one for a different action, such as:
Regular icon – No action
Selected icon – When you highlight an icon
Mouse-over icon – When mouse cursor is over an icon


Icon Groups
You can organize your desktop icons with the help of Icon Genesis into logical groups, which add convenience and ease of use for locating your icons.
You can create any number of Groups. For example “Files & Folder”, “Programs“, “Internet “, etc…


Using Animated Icons

Setting Animated Icons
Right click on the icon for which you wish to set up animation and click on iGnss Settings. Browse and select appropriate Animated Gif files for each animation action.


Changing Animated Icons

Right click on the icon for which you wish to change the animation and click on iGnss Settings. Browse and select appropriate Animated Gif files for each animation action.


Removing Animated Icons

Right click on the icon for which you wish to change the animation and click on iGnss Settings. No click on Clear for each action you wish to remove animation for & click Ok.
Or
Right Click on the desktop and click on “iGnss Restore All Icons” to remove all Animated Icons.



Using Icon Groups

Creating Icon Groups

There are several ways to enable icon grouping.
- Right-click on the desktop and select “iGnss Groups” then click on “Enable Icon Groups”
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Options” and place a checkmark beside “Enable Icon Groups”
To create new Groups:
- In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Icon Groups” and click on “New” then enter name and press Ok. Drag and drop icons from one group to another to move icons between groups.



Toggle Icon Groups On/Off
Right-click on the desktop and select “iGnss Groups” then click on “Enable Icon Groups” to Toggle Icon Groups On/Off


Moving Icons between Icon Groups
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Icon Groups” and drag and drop icons from one group to another to move icons between groups.


Editing Icon Groups
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Icon Groups” and highlight the group you wish to rename and click on “Edit” then enter the new name and press Ok.


Creating / Deleting Icon Groups
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Icon Groups” and click on “New” then enter name and press Ok.
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Icon Groups” and highlight the group you wish to delete and click on “Delete”. A Window with list of remaining groups will appear. Select which groups you wish to move icons to from the one you are deleting.



Configuring Icon Genesis

Auto Start-up
In the Icon Genesis program, go to “Options” and place a checkmark beside “Start with Windows”



Performance Optimization

Quality of 3D Animated or other GIF animated icons completely depends on the original quality setting when the GIF file was created. GIF file quality should not bring any PC performance hits.

Updating Windows:
Click on Start button
Click on Windows Update
Click on Product Updates
Follow the instructions to update your system.
You should select and install all updates available for your system.
